About the Office
The Office of Global Partnerships is an administrative office of Fudan University responsible for formulating and implementing the University’s strategies and policies on international cooperation and exchange, coordinating and managing related affairs, implementing national foreign and education policies concerning international engagement, and overseeing foreign-related affairs across the University.
The Confucius Institutes Office operates under the Office of Global Partnerships.
Core Responsibilities
1. Formulate and implement the University’s strategies and policies on international cooperation and exchange; coordinate and manage related affairs.
2. Serve as the University’s liaison body with national and municipal authorities including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs; implement national foreign and education policies as well as associated programs issued by the state and relevant authorities.
3. Coordinate with relevant University departments to liaise with the China Scholarship Council (CSC).
4. Develop plans for official overseas visits and organize such visits for University leadership in alignment with international exchange strategies.
5. Develop and manage international cooperation and exchange programs.
6. Coordinate and advance the University’s key international cooperation projects.
7. Collaborate with all schools, departments, and units to establish, maintain, and expand academic exchanges, cooperation, and dialogue with the University’s key strategic partners.
8. Promote the establishment of major international research platforms to enhance the depth and quality of the University’s global research collaboration.
9. Participate in the shaping of the University’s global branding and international profile.
10. Support the operations and events related to Confucius Institutes.
11. Enhance the global visibility and influence of Fudan University.
12. Coordinate international cooperation and exchange activities across the University; provide relevant information and services to support teaching and research.
13. Manage the documentation (such as visas and permits) and administrative affairs related to foreign experts.
14. Undertake the review, submission, and approval procedures for international conferences hosted by the University.
15. Handle the approvals of official overseas visits (including to Hong Kong, Macao, and the Taiwan region of China) for all faculty, students and staff; process applications for official passports/travel permits, visas/endorsements for University leadership; manage official travel documents (such as passports and travel permits).
