Zhongshan Hospital Endoscope Center Publishes China’s First Works on ESD and Endoscopic Nursing Science

Zhongshan Hospital Endoscope Center has recently published two ground-breaking works, Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection and Modern Endoscopic Nursing Science, each of which is the first work in its field. Prof. Wang Yuqi and Qin Xinyu, the top leaders from the hospital, composed prefaces to these two works.

Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection casts light on the newest treatment to the early phase of cancer in the alimentary canal. It illustrates the main procedures in the treatment, with a stress on endoscopic techniques involved. This book was written by doctors from the Center who are organized by Prof. Yao Liqing, Director of the Center, and Associate Prof. Zhou Pinghong, Deputy Director.

With rapid development of Endoscopy, clinical practice makes stricter requirements upon endoscopic nursing. Zhangshan Hospital Endoscope Center not only takes the lead in China in terms of the scale of diagnosis and treatment, but also ranks on the top level in terms of the quality of endoscopic nursing. On this advantageous ground, Prof. Yao Liqing and Ms. Wang Ping, head nurse of the Center, joined hands with over 50 experts engaged in endoscopic nursing in the writing of Modern Endoscopic Nursing Science, which covers a wide range of knowledge in the field and presents not only the new topics, technology and progress in modern endoscopic nursing science, but also the experience of nursing practice in cooperation with endoscopic diagnosis and treatment.

The publication of the two books bridges the gap in China’s Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) diagnosis and treatment, as well as that in the field of endoscopic nursing science. It also promotes the development of related disciplines and improves the treatment to the early phase of cancer in alimentary canal.
